Published on 30 September 2025 at 10:10

The UAE has introduced four new visit visa categories, opening the doors to specialists in Artificial Intelligence, entertainment, events, cruise ships, and luxury yachts.

Unveiled by the Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security (ICP), these changes are part of the country’s strategy to attract global talent, entrepreneurs, and professionals while reinforcing its position as a hub for both technology and lifestyle industries.

✨ Key Visa Changes in the UAE

1. Specialist Visit Visas

New entry routes for professionals in AI, events, cruise tourism, and luxury yachting, helping the Emirates strengthen its role as a magnet for innovation and world-class expertise.

2. Sponsorship for Family & Friends

Residents can still sponsor relatives and friends, but updated income requirements apply:

Immediate family: Dh4,000/month minimum

Second/third-degree relatives: Dh8,000/month

Friends: Dh15,000/month

3. Business Exploration Visa

Applicants must demonstrate financial solvency that matches the nature of their intended business activity, or show proof of running a company in that field outside the UAE.

4. Truck Drivers’ Visa

Truck drivers can now apply for single or multiple entry visas, with sponsorship by a freight or transport company. Requirements include health insurance, fees, and financial guarantees.

🌟 What This Means for Expats and Investors

The reforms highlight the UAE’s dual focus:

High-growth sectors like AI and entertainment are given priority through new visa tracks.

Tourism and logistics industries—from cruise ships to freight transport—gain more flexibility with updated rules.

Residents now have clearer financial thresholds for bringing over family and friends, making long-term settlement more structured.

For those eyeing the UAE, whether as an entrepreneur, skilled professional, or investor, the country is signalling even greater openness—balancing opportunity with structured entry rules.
